Albert “Pud” Phillip Harakel, Jr.

November 7, 1953 -- November 27, 2023

     Our brother in faith, Albert Phillip Harakel, Jr., 70 of Warner Lane, Lock Haven, a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ of Robesonia, entered into life eternal on November 27, 2023.

“Pud” was born in West Reading, PA to the late Albert P. and Delores E. (Messner) Harakel on 11/7/1953.

He was married to his high school sweetheart, Debra (Smith) Harakel on November 18, 1972, who survives. They just celebrated 51 years of marriage.  He was a member of UCC of Robesonia/St. Paul’s UCC, Robesonia, PA.

He graduated from Conrad Weiser Jr./Sr. High School in 1971.

Pud served an apprenticeship with Bricklayers Union Local #21 of Reading, PA.

He was the President of Harakel Construction, Inc. from 1986 until July 2008 when he purchased the Waterville Hotel, Waterville, PA and total renovated the historic building, changed the name to Waterville Tavern and operated the business along with his wife until July 5, 2023 when he sold the business.

He is survived by his wife, Deb, a daughter Melanie Saul, Son Michael Harakel, and his beloved “Honeygirls” McKenzie, Madison, Sophia, Bailey and Colbie and a great granddaughter, Genevieve, three brothers, Edward (Hope) Harakel, Anthony (Rebecca) Harakel and Andrew (Janell) Harakel and a sister, Stephanie (Eric) Troutman.

Pud was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Deborah Groff Minnich.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family would like to thank UPMC Hospice Care for their excellent care and support during the brief, difficult time.
