The Merger Process

2022 - Vote to Merge and Call Pastors

  On Sunday, November 13, 2022 at 11:30am (following the 10:15am worship service), a formal Congregational Meeting to vote on the vision of forming a new church together; to adopt the new constitution, by-laws, church name, formation resolution, and transition resolution; and to call the Rev. Dr. Benjamin Motz and the Rev. Mary Etta Mest as the Pastors of the newly merged church.   The motion passed with overwhelming support, with one abstention and the rest of the votes being "Yes."
 

2023 - Last Worship Service as Zion UCC

     The United Church of Christ of Robesonia, officially came into existence on Sunday, January 1, 2023. On Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 10:15am we held a "Closing Worship Service" to prayerfully lift up to God the ending of our two congregations (St. Paul’s UCC and Zion UCC) as separate entities. On Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 10:15am we had our "Opening Worship Service" to joyously begin our new unified church together, pray for God's blessings upon our ministries, offer vows of membership, install our pastoral leadership, and enjoy in fellowship after worship.

2024 - Dissolution of Zion UCC

In August 2024, the legal process of dissolving the corporation of Zion UCC was concluded. Zion UCC donated its remaining assets to the United Church of Christ of Robesonia and legally dissolved as a separate organization.
